The "Rumi"
The bird motif is formed by several rumi shapes in the central circle. The head, eye, body/wing, and feet are all rumi motifs in different sizes. Also the negative shapes within the enclosing circle also form rumis. The detailing in the wing is a continuous line of rumis as well as the border edges. This plate exhibits the great variation in the slip from the smooth metallic bronze edges to the rippled textural metallic centre.
